Enjoy the magic of nature, learn exciting stories about the historic Raesfeld moated castle and its Renaissance zoo:

Hike through the forest, moats and alleys, enjoy culinary delights. Stroll through the Schlossfreiheit with beautiful little buildings and a chapel that was built near the castle a long time ago.
Take a look at the old castle chapel (only open on weekends from Easter to All Saints' Day).

Marvel at the astrologer tower on your round, from whose balustrade Alexander II of Velen liked to look at the starry night sky.

Wander through one of the oldest surviving Renaissance zoos in Germany, Idyllic landscape architecture, forest air and the background noise of the forest await you.
It goes through the landscape of the Münsterland into that of the Lower Rhine, over the Issel through forest and field and back to the historic zoo with its unique magic.

Very contemporary, on the other hand, is the recently created public park near the castle with a sensory path, boulodrôme, treadmill and fitness equipment and a spectacular view of the Raesfeld moated castle.
